“The goal is not to be better than the other man, but your previous self.”

- Ancient Proverb

Chris was a student in Music Performance at Morehouse College where he studied under Grammy-Award Winning Trumpeter, Melvin Jones and former Principal Trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony, John Head. While attending Morehouse, he performed with and received valuable advice from many world-renowned artists including one of his favorite Musicians/Composers, Terence Blanchard.

Upon graduating with honors from Morehouse (2011), Chris was then accepted into the Masters in Jazz Studies/Studio Production program at the University of Central Oklahoma where he graduated with high honors (2013). While at UCO, he performed with many artists including Delfeayo Marsalis, Marvin Stamm, Donny McCaslin, and Kenny Garrett.

After University, Chris was briefly an Interim Professor at his first alma mater, Morehouse College. While back there, he also served as a recording assistant to Grammy Award-Winning Producer, Musician, and iOS App Developer, Kennard Garrett. Chris then continued to perform professionally with Carnival Cruise Line starting in the winter of 2014. It was traveling the world via the water where he fell in love with the practice of journaling and yoga. This love pushed him to continue to develop his personal sound and build upon his audio engineering skill-set.

After deciding to leave Carnival and come back to land full time, Chris used his resources to build his first recording space, Udaemonia Sound. Udaemonia has been home base since its founding for Chris’ personal projects and collaborations including his 2019 debut album, Torii.

Chris channels a mindset of abundance, love, compassion, and hope. His aim is to continually develop always as a person first and in turn, speaking that truth through music.
